TrailCam Go Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026
Policy version: 2026083101

TrailCam Go is developed and promoted by Shenzhen Jichen Technology Co., Ltd. This Policy explains how the app processes personal information in connection with accounts, camera connections, maps, media, push notifications, online customer support, and feedback, as well as the choices available to you and where to manage them.

Please read this Policy in full before deciding whether to consent. Online customer support is an optional service that requires separate, explicit consent when you first use it. Declining customer support does not affect other device functions. System permissions for location, nearby devices, the camera, the microphone, notifications, and storage on older Android versions are managed separately by the operating system as required for the relevant functions. Reading or agreeing to this Policy does not grant these system permissions.

I. Information Processed by Function

1. Accounts and cloud-connected devices. When you register an account, sign in, recover your password, link a device to your account, share a device, or use related functions, the app processes the email address and sign-in verification information you provide, your account identifier, sign-in credentials, account region, and associated device linking and sharing relationships. This information is used to verify your identity, manage devices, and provide the relevant cloud services. Your account region determines which service endpoints are used. For devices that support plan management, the app also processes information about the device's 4G SIM card, service plan, orders, and data usage status to display and manage those services. If you use device functions that are available without signing in, you are not required to register an account to use online customer support.

2. Finding, connecting to, and controlling cameras. The app processes the name and identifier of the camera you select, Bluetooth discovery and connection information, Wi-Fi connection information (such as the camera's hotspot name, connection address, and network status), and the device model, firmware, settings, and connection results. This information is used to find the target device, establish a connection, display its status, and send the control commands you request. The ArLink/LINK/PPCS camera communication components provide connectivity and audio/video transmission. These device identifiers identify cameras and should not be confused with your phone's Android ID.

3. Browsing, playing, saving, and sharing media. The app processes the photos, videos, and audio you access from a camera or cloud account, together with associated information such as device identifiers, media identifiers, and capture times, to display, download, play, and manage media. When you browse cloud media, the app requests files from the cloud service associated with the device and caches them on your phone. Corresponding gallery files are created only when you actively save media, take a screenshot, or record a video. When you share content, the receiving app you select processes that content. What you can view for a shared device depends on the permissions granted by its owner.

4. Maps, location, and orientation. Maps use a device's existing location or a location you actively select to display markers, select an installation location, and look up addresses. When you request your current location, the app processes latitude and longitude, location accuracy, and the network information needed for positioning, within the scope of your system location permissions. Precise location is sensitive personal information; please consider carefully before granting permission. Denying location permission does not prevent you from viewing existing device locations.

The Baidu Maps components are initialized only after you have agreed to this Policy and the map page is actually visible in the foreground and needs to be displayed. They are not initialized merely to open the home screen or receive messages in the background. The map SDK may read the Android ID, device brand and model, and system and app information for authentication, configuration, and error diagnostics. It also processes the network and location data needed for maps, searches, or positioning. See Section III for details of the information processed by the SDK.

To display the direction your phone is facing, the app uses Android system APIs to query the lists and availability of accelerometer and magnetic field sensors and read their data to calculate the heading angle. The app's own orientation listener is enabled only after you have agreed to the Policy, while the map is visible in the foreground, and when an existing location point requires a heading display. It stops when you leave the map or the app goes into the background. These sensor functions do not use the Body Sensors permission and do not have a separate system runtime permission prompt. The app does not request background location access, and map positioning stops when you leave the map. The app has not enabled the location SDK's altitude or device orientation options for its map functions.

5. Device messages and push notifications. The app uses JPush or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to notify you of device events, device-sharing invitations, and other service messages. These services process basic app and device information, network status, push registration identifiers or tokens, and data needed to deliver messages. When you are signed in and use the relevant push channel, the app registers the token with the corresponding account service to associate your account with the receiving device. FCM's Firebase installation ID (FID) and notification token are not Android IDs.

Push services are enabled while your privacy consent is valid. To deliver event notifications when you have not opened the app, the system may deliver messages, refresh tokens, or perform necessary connections and retries in the background. Receiving service messages in the background does not require starting maps, reading orientation sensors, or uploading device information for customer support. Turning off system notifications primarily affects how notifications are displayed. To withdraw the privacy consent on which the app relies, use the consent management options described in this Policy.

6. Optional online customer support and FAQs. Online conversations and FAQs are provided through Freshworks' Freshchat service. When you first use it, the app displays a separate explanation and lets you decide whether to consent. Having previously signed in, sought support for a device, or had a conversation does not automatically constitute consent to customer support under this version.

After you consent to and use customer support, the app provides the support service with the necessary account email address and name (when you are signed in), account or guest session identifiers, and conversation recovery identifiers to identify the person seeking support and restore their previous conversations. When you actively seek support for a selected device, the app provides the device's model, firmware, identifier, battery level, memory card information, operating mode, and connection diagnostics, as well as applicable information about its 4G SIM card, service plan, upload settings, signal, and related details, for troubleshooting. Not every device has all these fields. Routine home screen refreshes and simply signing in do not substitute for your choice to actively submit a device support inquiry.

Freshchat also processes your phone model, system, app, and network information, your messages, attachments you actively select, and customer support notification tokens. The local configuration protection code in the currently integrated version reads the serial number made available by the system. If that value is empty, it may read the Android ID to derive data needed to protect local configuration. This disclosure does not mean that the app actively uploads this identifier as part of customer support messages.

Once customer support is enabled, receiving replies, handling notification taps, and performing necessary retries may take place in the background. The app does not initiate customer support processing solely because the phone starts up, the language changes, or the app is updated. Withdrawing customer support consent stops new customer support processing and support notifications without affecting other device services. You may consent again when you choose to use customer support later. Mappings for previous conversations are retained to support subsequent recovery, but withdrawing consent does not delete historical records on the server.

7. Feedback you actively submit. For functions that support feedback on AI recognition, once you confirm the upload, the selected images and corresponding recognition categories are added to a feedback upload task. The upload to the object storage service may continue when network connectivity is restored, for the purpose of handling that recognition feedback. Canceling the confirmation does not submit the feedback. Please do not submit images that you do not want processed. Diagnostic logs may contain device identifiers, phone and app versions, connection status, error information, and request URLs (which may include temporary access parameters). When providing feedback to customer support or other support channels, please pay attention to the information you choose to provide.

II. System Permissions and the Effects of Denying Them

Nearby devices/Bluetooth: Used to find and connect to cameras. Older Android versions may require location permission for Bluetooth or Wi-Fi discovery; newer versions use nearby devices permissions. Denying permission makes the corresponding discovery or connection functions unavailable, while functions that do not depend on it remain available.

Location: Used for current-location services you request and for camera discovery on older systems that require location permission. You can manage precise or approximate location access and permission status in system settings. The app does not immediately and repeatedly display permission requests after you deny access.

Media/storage: On Android 7 through 9, the app requests read permission as needed when you open the local gallery, and write permission as needed when you actively save or share media, take screenshots, record videos, or delete files from the shared system gallery. On Android 10 and later, the app accesses and saves its own media through the system media library without requesting broad permission to read photos or videos. This does not mean the app can freely read all media on your phone. Whether older media whose ownership attribution changes after uninstalling and reinstalling the app remains readable also depends on system rules. Denying permission affects only the corresponding gallery or saving operations. The home screen does not proactively request storage permission.

Camera/microphone: Used when you actively scan a code, capture an attachment, or use functions that require live capture, such as voice or intercom features. Denying permission makes only the corresponding capture functions unavailable and does not affect browsing existing media. Selecting an existing attachment is handled through the relevant system picker or permission process.

Notifications: Used to display device events or reply alerts for customer support that you have enabled. Newer Android versions require separate system permission. If you turn notifications off, you may not see them promptly, but you can still open the app to check service information or customer support conversations. Network access, network status access, and the capabilities needed to keep necessary operations running are used to provide the online services you use or message delivery you have enabled. These system capabilities do not authorize the app to process personal information without restriction.

III. Third-Party SDKs and Services

The following services process relevant data only in accordance with the functions enabled in this app and your consent and permission status. A third party's official policy may also cover its other products or optional capabilities; this does not mean that this app has enabled every data collection item described in that policy.

Baidu Maps/Location/LBS Search: Provided by Beijing Baidu Netcom Science Technology Co., Ltd. Used for maps, displaying device locations, selecting locations, address searches, and positioning you request. Relevant data includes Android ID/CUID, device, system, and app information, network information, and latitude, longitude, and auxiliary positioning information within the scope of your location permission. Maps are initialized as needed for use in the foreground. Baidu Maps Open Platform Privacy Policy.

JPush/JCore: Provided by Shenzhen Hexun Huagu Information Technology Co., Ltd. Used to deliver device service messages, identify receiving devices, and manage push connections. The service may process device identifiers used by the SDK (such as Android ID), phone model information, system and app information, network and IP information, and push registration identifiers. It is enabled while privacy consent is valid, and necessary message delivery may take place in the background. JPush Privacy Policy.

Firebase Cloud Messaging / Firebase Installations: Provided by Google. Used for message delivery through applicable channels and identification of app installation instances. These services process FIDs, push tokens, basic app and device information, and network data needed for message delivery. Firebase Privacy and Data Processing Information; Google Privacy Policy.

When you use the relevant map page or request your current location on that page, these services display the map and provide positioning by processing map requests, device and network information, and location data within the scope of your permissions. Google Privacy Policy.

Freshchat: Provided by Freshworks. Used for online conversations, FAQs, conversation recovery, and reply notifications after you have given separate consent. See the online customer support explanation in Section I for the specific information provided and when it is provided. Freshchat connects to Freshworks' online services and transmits the relevant data to a service provider outside the app. Freshworks Privacy Notice; Freshworks Sub-Processor Information. These public materials do not replace this app's explanation of the customer support service it provides.

Alibaba Cloud OSS: Provided by Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd. Used to store AI recognition feedback images that you actively confirm for submission, together with data such as their object names, and to process the network requests, device model, and operating system information needed for uploads. Images are not selected for upload simply because you open the home screen. Confirmed upload tasks may continue when network connectivity is restored. Object Storage SDK Privacy Policy.

Camera communication and 4G cloud platforms: ArLink/LINK/PPCS provide camera communication. The cloud platform associated with each device (identified in the app as IVY or YC) provides accounts, device management, media access, and message subscriptions. These services process device identifiers, connection and authentication information, and the audio, video, or device information you request, according to the functions you use. You can contact us using the details below to ask which devices and services are applicable. The presence of local components for image processing, audio/video decoding, user interfaces, or similar purposes does not mean that the app sends media to the open-source maintainers of those components.

IV. Information Transfer, Storage, and Protection

When you use cloud services, maps, push notifications, or customer support, or submit feedback, the relevant information is transmitted to the service provider responsible for that function. The app may select service endpoints based on your account region and device platform and connect to third-party online services such as Freshworks and Google. Using a feature on your phone does not mean that all processing takes place locally on the phone. The app does not automatically treat overall consent to this Policy as consent to optional customer support.

Your phone stores your sign-in status, device list, settings, the version and time associated with your privacy choices, mappings used to recover customer support conversations, and media caches or files you save. You can manage local data through the relevant app screens and the app storage options in system settings. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app may affect your sign-in status, cached data, and subsequent conversation recovery, so please retain any information you need beforehand. Files already saved to the system gallery are also subject to the system gallery's management rules.

Cloud accounts, cloud media, and customer support history are each processed by the respective services you use. You may request access, correction, deletion, or other actions through the account, device, or media management functions, or through the contact channels below. Withdrawing consent only stops the corresponding new processing; it does not mean that historical data on the server has been deleted, and it does not close your account. Please keep your account and camera access credentials secure, and confirm the recipient and scope of access before sharing devices or media.

V. Your Choices and How to Manage Them

Reading the Policy: The "Privacy Policy" link in the first-launch dialog and the "About the App — Privacy Policy" page both open the complete text stored locally, without an internet connection. Third-party policy links are opened only when you choose to view them and require internet access.

Withdrawing customer support consent: On the app's "About the App — Privacy Policy" page, under "Manage Your Choices," select "Withdraw Online Customer Support Consent" and confirm. The app will stop new customer support processing and support notifications, then reopen to clear the state of components that have already run. You will remain signed in, and other device functions will remain available. If you actively choose to use customer support later, the app will explain the service and request your consent again.

Withdrawing overall consent: In the same location in the app, select "Withdraw Overall Privacy Consent" and confirm. The app will stop the relevant services that rely on consent, also withdraw customer support consent, and reopen to the policy confirmation page. Until you explicitly consent again, you will not be able to access account functions, camera connections, maps, cloud media, push notifications, customer support, or other such services. Withdrawal itself does not delete your account, devices, media, or mappings for previous conversations.

System permissions: Manage these on this app's permissions and notifications pages in Android system settings. Denying a permission needed for an optional function should not be treated as declining all services.

Account and other data rights: You can view account information, change your password, or initiate "Delete Account" from the account page, then follow the email instructions to complete confirmation. To request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of other personal information, seek an explanation of processing rules, or raise a privacy concern, please contact the support email address below and specify the relevant function. You do not need to include passwords, verification codes, or other secret credentials in your initial email. Requests to delete customer support history are handled separately from the withdrawal of customer support consent.

VI. Minors and Policy Updates

Users under the age of 14 should have a parent or other guardian read this Policy and guide their use of the app. Particular care should be taken when accounts, device sharing, precise location, sending images, or similar information is involved. Guardians with questions about the processing of such information may contact us using the details below.

If there are significant changes to the scope of information processing or the matters requiring consent, we will update the Policy provided with the app and explain the changes. This version requires renewed overall consent, while customer support consent is recorded separately with its corresponding version and time. Merely viewing the Policy, closing a dialog, having existing system permissions, or retaining previous conversation records does not automatically constitute new consent.
